Privacy Policy

This site, suntalawatercolors.com, is run by Jeff Suntala, a watercolorist in Strongsville, Ohio. It shows his paintings and sells originals, prints and a yearly calendar. This page says what the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What the site collects
Forms. The contact form, the inquiry form on a painting's page and the newsletter field ask for your name, your email address, a reason for writing and your message, or just your email address for the newsletter. What you send is stored with the site's content so Jeff can reply, and a contact or inquiry message is emailed to him. A newsletter sign-up is kept with the site's content so Jeff can write to everyone who signed up, and you get one email confirming it; to come off the list, reply to that email or use the contact form.
Orders. Checkout happens on a page hosted by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details, and they never reach this site. The site receives and keeps your name, email address, shipping address and what you bought, so the order can be shipped and found again. Stripe's own handling of your payment is described in Stripe's privacy policy.
Anti-spam check. Every form on the site runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which decides whether a submission comes from a person. Turnstile may set a cookie on its own domain while it runs; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics
The site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and paintings are looked at. Consent Mode is set as configured for the site: with the current setting analytics cookies are allowed by default, and there is no cookie banner. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga (two years) and _ga_* (two years) on this site's domain. When a server-side tagging host is configured, the analytics requests go to that host, a subdomain of this site, before reaching Google. To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser or use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Email from the site, including form confirmations, order notices and shipping notices, is sent through Resend. Resend keeps delivery logs for a limited time.
Hosting and the database
The site runs on Vercel, and its database, which holds the content, the orders and the form submissions, is hosted by Supabase in the United States. Vercel keeps standard server logs, including your IP address and the pages requested, for a short time to run the site and to find faults.
Videos
Some shop items include a video. Nothing from YouTube loads until you choose to play it; the video then loads from YouTube's no-cookie host, youtube-nocookie.com, under Google's privacy policy.
How long things are kept
Orders are kept for as long as the records of the business need them. Form submissions are kept until Jeff has dealt with them and deletes them. Newsletter addresses are kept until you ask to come off the list. Server logs and email logs are kept for the short periods set by Vercel and Resend.
Your rights
You can ask what the site holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Send the request through the contact form; Jeff will answer by email. There is no other address to write to.
Children
The site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date at the top.
